The only Italian company in the field of linear accelerators for radiotherapy brings to Stockholm its clinical experience while presenting the future of ultra-high dose rate.
S.I.T. – Sordina IORT Technologies S.p.A. will participate in the 2026 edition of the annual ESTRO congress — European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology — scheduled in Stockholm, Sweden, from 15 to 19 May 2026 at the Stockholmsmässan Exhibition and Congress Centre.
ESTRO is the leading European event for the scientific and clinical community in radiotherapy and oncology, and, at an international level, one of the most significant gatherings for research, clinical practice and technological innovation exchange.
A technological evolution towards FLASH Radiotherapy
SIT’s participation in ESTRO 2026 represents a key moment to present its technological and scientific development, which from the consolidated applications in IOeRT — with the LIAC HWL and the TPS treatment planning system — extends towards FLASH Radiotherapy, through the development of the CHC FlashPrime as a dedicated platform for ultra-high dose rate.
In this context, SIT brings a vision grounded in continuity and integration: the evolution towards FLASH is, for S.I.T., nothing other than a natural evolution of the company’s engineering expertise, clinical experience and progressive technological development.
Research, technology and clinical application
The company is currently actively engaged in the development and validation of FLASH technology, with the ElectronFlash as a dedicated research platform, consolidating advanced competencies in electronics, dosimetry and beam control — an ongoing activity, running in parallel with already established clinical applications.
This approach allows the transition towards clinical applications of FLASH Radiotherapy to be addressed with a solid technological and scientific foundation, focused on safety, reproducibility and integration into care pathways.
An international dialogue on the future of radiotherapy
SIT’s presence at ESTRO 2026 will offer the opportunity to engage with the international scientific community, share experiences and actively contribute to the debate on the evolution of oncological radiotherapy.
In a landscape where research and innovation are redefining treatment models, SIT continues to promote solutions that combine advanced technology and clinical application, with the aim of improving the efficacy and sustainability of therapeutic pathways.
